Traveling to Rome

Visa

All delegates traveling to Italy must present an approved travel document (passport or identity card) and delegates from many countries will require a ‘tourist’ visa to enter the country. To see whether a visa is necessary, delegates should check this official site.

Delegates are urged to contact their nearest Italian embassy or consulate as early as possible to determine where the application should be made and how long this process will take.

Applications must be submitted in person at the Italian representation in the respective countries, or at a Schengen partner representation, if Italy does not have representation in that country.

Further information regarding immigration processes for Italy is available at: www.esteri.it/visti/index_eng.asp.

Please note that if a visa is refused the registration fee cannot be refunded. See registration terms and conditions for further information.

Weather

Rome is a Mediterranean country, so its weather is mild and very humid, especially during the summer. The hottest months are July and August. The winter is mild and in autumn it usually rains, especially in November.
